Got questions? We have answers
I have a computer and Microsoft Word, why do I need to use a graphic design company?
Your branding and marketing materials are often the first point of contact with potential customers. You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression, and therefore your communication materials need to convey the right image. A design agency will produce marketing materials that will help to impress upon potential customers the professionalism of your company and the service you offer. By producing your own marketing materials you run the risk of appearing amateurish, meaning the loss of potential customers.
What are your payment terms?
For projects where the quote is under Rs. 5,000, we require an initial payment representing fifty percent of the total fee, before we can commence work on your project. The remainder of the balance is payable upon completion of the job. For projects where the quote is over Rs. 10,000, we require an initial payment of one-third of the total fee, before we can commence work on your project. As the project progresses we will require payment for the second one-third at the halfway point. The remaining one-third of the balance is payable upon completion of the job.

How does the design process work, from my initial enquiry, to completion of the job?
We start all projects by thoroughly discussing the details of the project with the client. From this discussion we establish the specific requirements, which we call The Brief. We believe that client input is a crucial factor to making the project a success. Once we have established the brief, we begin work on the project by researching ideas. These initial ideas are worked up on the latest Apple Mac computers into design visuals using the latest graphic/web design software. The design visuals are then forwarded onto the client for feedback. We listen carefully to client feedback, offering solutions and advice to any issues that may arise. If any alterations are required, these are made and the amended visual is resubmitted to the client. This process continues until we receive client approval.
How will I receive the finished design?
Once we have received the final payment, we will supply all electronic files on a CD. For print jobs, you will also receive high resolution PDFs, which can be taken to a printer of your choice.
Will I be able to update these files on my computer?
Unfortunately unless you use an Apple Mac computer with the relevant software, you will not be able to view the files or make alterations. The main software packages we use are Quark, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Dreamweaver and Flash.
Who owns the copyright for the designs you produce?
Copyright for all work carried out by MS Made® transfers to the client as soon as the balance has been settled in full. We do, however, reserve the right to use any work for promotional purposes.
I need something designing yesterday, is this possible?
Sometimes customers require our services at very short notice. We can usually accommodate rush jobs depending on the size of the project and how full our production schedule is. These jobs are usually subjected to an additional charge on the flat hourly rate.
Do you do printing?
Yes, but we do not provide printing services directly. We can recommend reputable national and local printers at your request. Because our clients are located throughout the globe, it is far more expedient for proofing and more cost-effective and faster for shipping if you deal with a local printer. We can act as an intermediary with your printer, or simply provide you with the final files to take to your printer. Printing is typically not included in any of our project quotations.
Are there any separate, extra, or hidden, charges?
We do not believe in disappointing anybody with any form of hidden cost. It is our policy to be transparent with our clients with all costs itemized prior to the start of any project. You are notified of any changes and adjustments. Work only progresses once you have agreed to any changes.
Depending on the project type, some items that are typically quoted separately include:
What if I am not satisfied with my final product?
We believe in your complete satisfaction. We will continue to work with you to refine your design until you are completely happy; we offer ‘unlimited’ revisions on your design project within the confines set out in the original design brief.
However, if we collaborate on a project, and in the end we do not arrive at a result with which you are perfectly satisfied, you do not pay! You agree to accept payment for any purchased services or products (e.g. stock photography, printing, Web domain registration, etc.). Any partial deposits or payments will be returned to you, less any financial institution fees. The copyrights to your design project remain with Joe Donnelly Design, while you maintain the copyright over your company or product names used in the designs. What this means is that we could theoretically use or resell the design (the look of a particular brochure for example) to another JDD client. You will also be asked to sign and warrant that you will not use any creative or interim designs created or presented to you as part of our design process together.
Many design firms speak of 100% client satisfaction, we are willing to stake our fee and reputation on it. If you are not happy, then we are not happy. We trust our work will speak for itself and your satisfaction will be assured.
